Located in the centre of the village of Tulla, The Courthouse is a 19th century stone building which was formerly occupied by the Court Service and Clare County Council, is now in use as a Community, Arts and Cultural centre for the parish.... The building provides the following accommodation: • Credit Union offices in the rear of the building. • Large hall which is used for Saturday Country Markets, for theatrical and musical performances (with full sound system, lighting, screen and projection facilities, seating and stage), educational uses, seminars, dancing and night classes. • Kitchen\meeting room with facilities for catering. • Upper floor meeting room which is used by voluntary organisations and others for meetings. Classes, with computer and printing facilities. • The building is fully provided with WCs, heating etc. and is accessible for disabled users. Rent is reasonable and includes general electricity, and heaters are operated by a card meter (cards can be purchased locally) The Courthouse is being run by a small group of people who are representative of the main organisations who use the building. It is a valuable asset to the town and to local organizations, and it is important to see it used as much as possible. In addition to the space and facilities which are provided, the Courthouse is unique in its location in the very centre of the town, where it is close to all of the other businesses and facilities which are on offer. Any enquiries regarding use of the Courthouse and booking spaces for meetings, seminars, exhibitions or concerts should be addressed to Rose de Courcy on 087 2259672 or Morna Toibin in Tulla Pharmacy on 065 6835149. All are welcome to use this fine facility, and anyone who wishes to join the Courthouse Committee, or who may have ideas for its further development is welcome to contact any of the above. |
